Kuchiki Rukia is capable of being a loud-mouthed, bossy, and ornery person, but most people never know this just by meeting her for the first time. She is polite and formal to those she encounters, and during times that work needs to be done she maintains a no-nonsense, business only demeanor.

Only those that know her best (and those that annoy her the most) know how much of a snarktastic loudmouth she can be. She is especially fond of torturing young, abrasive men, and can often be seen being, rude, sarcastic, deliberately annoying, and even violent towards them. This discrepancy between her polite side and bitchy side tends to freak some people out, namely those young abrasive men she insists on teasing.

Not many people know that Rukia is perfectly able to hold her own in a physical fight, but even less are aware of the surprisingly girly interests that she indulges in when she thinks no one is looking.

Rukia is also vulnerable at times, although she has mastered the art of hiding her insecurities. As someone who spent her childhood without a “real” family and her teenage years in a dysfunctional one, she longs for what is normal, for the familiarity between intimate friends. Once invested in a relationship, she is extremely loyal, becoming a person one can truly count on.

As a mentor, Rukia is a very motivating person. She knows just what people need to get them going, whether it is gentle reassurance or a good kick to the rear.

M A G I C

>> Conductor:
Basic – The conductor is a fairly unremarkable katana that Rukia keeps sheathed and strapped to her side. The hilt has an engraved metal crossguard, and the silver blade is slim, with a length of about two feet. To the eye that senses spiritual power, it has a faint blue glow.

Risen – Though it is quite plain in its most basic form, the sword transforms into a truly beautiful weapon when power is applied to it. It elongates and glows pure white from hilt to blade. The crossguard also changes, becoming a metal ring with two semi-circular connections to the hilt. A long white ribbon is attached from the hilt. With its risen form, Rukia can channel her control over her the elements; for example, producing large blasts of ice, or encasing her enemies in a pillar of ice that reaches to the heavens.

Divine – The divine form will possibly be a weapon that becomes so ice-cold that all energy (body heat, kinetic energy, every trace of heat down to the molecular level) is siphoned from her opponent to the sword try to compensate for the void. Eventually this slows the opponent until they stop and freeze to death. The downside to this is that Rukia can only maintain the divine form for so long. It is all a matter of adjusting the temperatures of her weapon; for example, if Rukia were to immediately attempt absolute zero, the attack would become highly unstable and she may end up freezing herself as well. Through practice, Rukia will eventually be able to withstand colder temperatures for a longer length of time than most.

>> Fighting skills (strongest to weakest):
Agility: Shinigami Student. Rukia spent much time fending for herseld as an orphan and is quite nimble.
Magical Strength: Talented Human. Though she has not yet encountered spirits, Rukia will be quick to pick up the art of casting spells.
Energy Reserve: Realized Human. Rukia is just coming to recognize her own power.
Vitality: Athletic Human. Rukia can hold her ground against other humans pretty well, but if faced with more powerful enemies she will not last so long when hit.
Brute Strength: Average Human. Rukia relies more on her speed, reflexes, and the element of surprise during a fight.

>> Magical Companion:
Jadis is a winged snow leopard, so chosen because of her ability to withstand the freezing temperatures that Rukia will command while developing her powers. Snow leopards are generally smaller than most big cats; Jadis is roughly four feet long and weighs about 100 pounds. She is fast and cunning, much like her master, and her powerful muscles allow her to make some pretty fantastic leaps. Her appearance and base abilities are that of a normal snow leopard living in the wild; the only difference is that she has powerful feathered wings that appear only when needed, sprouting from her shoulders.

Jadis commands a serious, almost wise presence, although it times she can be somewhat haughty (Rukia often gets the impression that she is being looked down on). Her icy glare causes animals and people alike shudder with fear. However, she is very loyal, and is as dedicated to improving her abilities as Rukia is (perhaps even more so, as she will often outlast her owner during training sessions). Her element is Ice.
